Manjula is the Founder & CEO of Spaanda. Spaanda helps businesses identify, quantify and mitigate climate risks in line with the Task Force on Climate-related Disclosures (TCFD) framework, and offers an end-to-end ESG data management service to help clients effectively manage their climate risks across the value chain. She has over 20 years of experience in finance and sustainability, and has been working with various businesses, most recently as Head of Finance- Sustainability at Tesco. She has been the finance lead in establishing a reporting framework for Tesco’s sustainability strategy and is leading the implementation of the TCFD guidelines.

Manjula is currently representing Tesco on the UN Global Compact’s Expert Group working on the Principles for Corporate Finance and Investments for contribution to the UN SDGs. She is also providing TCFD implementation advice to a luxury fashion company. She has recently spoken about TCFD at UNCTAD- ISAR, which is a Standing Intergovernmental Working Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting. She has also spoken at various other forums in the UK, including the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), the Judge Business School (University of Cambridge) and at HSBC’s Sustainability Event.

A qualified Chartered Accountant, Manjula has an MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge and an MBA (with distinction) from the London Business School. She was also a member of the Standards Advisory Group at the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and has worked very closely with the Prince’s Accounting for Sustainability Project (A4S) on various projects.
